Firing circuit driver airbag stage 14/8/2023 ![]() Thinking it would only throwing a fault on startup (as per my homework reading on this very forum) I disconnected the battery and found a bit of corrosion on the negative cable clamp. I read up on the swinging voltage test and thought it might be the battery and so charged the thing right up with an Oxford optimate type device. Then I plugged in my Carsoft C110 scanner, this diagnosed and turned the light off when requested.īut, even though the airbag light stayed off whilst driving, the next day on start up the light came straight back on. Code 38 on that device, "swinging voltage test". So, I tried a B800 scanner and found it would diagnose the fault but not reset the light. I checked under the seats wiring and even plumbed in a seat mat bypass to eliminate it as a cause. The E85 in question is a 2003 3.0 and up to now has only had a new expansion tank and rocker cover gasket replaced in my ownership. Out of the blue I was informed by my wife that the airbag light lit up on Scully (our Z4) whilst driving down a local B road. Hi all, thought I would post what I hope is a success story. ![]()
